Under the direction of the Finance Planning & Analysis Manager, the Financial Analyst is responsible for conducting comprehensive financial analysis, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. This role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. The Financial Analyst will collaborate across departments to provide insightful financial metrics and support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Conduct annual capital and operational budgeting functions
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of budget information
- Perform monthly variance analysis between actual results, budgets, and prior year performance
- Analyze and report trends related to Return on Equity (ROE) and Rate of Return
- Update and maintain financial forecasting models
- Support management with acquisition analysis and new business opportunities
- Prepare, maintain, analyze, and distribute financial and key metrics reports
- Assist with data compilation for rate case filings and quarterly audit requests
- Collaborate with internal departments and cross-functional teams
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Accounting or Finance
- Strong ability to analyze financial reports and communicate findings
- Advanced computer and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with JD Edwards Insights
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Financial Analysis, Budgeting, and Forecasting expertise
Salary : $80,000 - $115,000
