Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and convert Government Segment leads to new sales opportunities using structured engagement strategies.
- Maintain and grow existing Government Segment customer accounts by understanding their evolving needs and problems and aligning them with Kinedyne Defend solutions.
- Provide support to state/local/federal government MRO sales teams.
- Conduct and support product education, quoting and training for customer sales teams to enhance product knowledge and drive sales within state, local and federal customers.
- Adhere to documented sales procedures and contribute to the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Maintain accurate and complete records in CRM systems to ensure traceability and data integrity.
- Support internal audits and corrective actions related to customer satisfaction and sales processes and initiate corrective actions related to customer complaints or product nonconformities.
- Partner with Marketing, outside Sales, and Customer Service to ensure seamless customer experience.
- Provide feedback on customer needs, product performance, and market trends to support continual improvement.
- Identify risks and opportunities in the sales process and escalate issues that may impact on customer satisfaction or product conformity.
- Participate in management reviews and contribute to the achievement of quality and sales objectives.
- May represent Kinedyne Defend at trade shows, customer events, and industry functions to promote brand awareness and gather market intelligence.
- Utilize business analytics tools such as Gov Spend and NSN Now to support new business growth and competitor pricing and information.
- Recommend changes to sales processes or documentation to improve quality and efficiency.
- Escalate unresolved customer issues to the Director, Sales-Government, Military, and Defense Segment or Quality Representative.
- Engage with Kinedyne Canada, international and commercial inside/outside sales team as needed for government specific requests and quotes or guidance.
- Approve and issue quotations within defined pricing thresholds.
- Negotiate standard terms and conditions with customers in accordance with Company policy and with review of Heico Legal.
- Create new customer accounts as needed.
- Post-high school education such as an associate degree or certification in professional sales.
- BA/BS university degree with concentration in Sales, Business or Marketing, preferred.
- Minimum of 24 months of demonstrated proficiency in government, military, or defense sales, preferred.
- A combination of years of experience, advanced education, and function-specific training and experience may be considered in lieu of the minimum education requirements.
- Competent computer skills with experience using MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, and MS Outlook.
- Proficiency in business social media platforms such as LinkedIn.
- Experience working in ERP systems, Microsoft D365 knowledge preferred.
- Proficiency in using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software such as Monday.com, Salesforce, HubSpot, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Proficiency in mathematics to calculate margins, pricing, and profits.
- Experience within the government, military and defense sales ecosystem.
