Kinderhook Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our skilled and dedicated team. We are a well-established small animal practice focused on delivering high-quality medical and surgical care to dogs and cats in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, procedures, and surgeries
- Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats for treatments and diagnostics
- Administer prescribed medications under supervision
- Prepare, clean, and maintain exam rooms, equipment, and surgical areas
- Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, fecal, etc.)
- Accurately maintain patient medical records
- Assist in patient monitoring and general care during hospital stays
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant is preferred
- Proficient in handling and restraining dogs and cats
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team in a clinical setting
