Role Description The Childcare Director is a full-time, on-site role located at our Clifton, NJ center. This role oversees daily operations, including staff scheduling, classroom coverage, and adherence to health, safety, and licensing requirements. The Childcare Director supports teachers with curriculum implementation, classroom management, and child development best practices, while maintaining positive relationships with families through regular communication and problem resolution. The role includes managing enrollment, conducting tours, and ensuring high-quality customer service to prospective and current families. The Childcare Director is also responsible for basic administrative tasks such as recordkeeping, reporting, and assisting with budgeting and resource planning.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in childcare and early childhood development, with the ability to support age-appropriate learning and a safe, nurturing environment.
- Experience in education or early learning settings, including curriculum support, classroom oversight, and staff guidance.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, families, staff, and external partners.
- Customer service skills focused on building trust, addressing concerns promptly, and maintaining positive family relationships.
- Leadership and team management experience, including coaching staff, resolving conflicts, and fostering a collaborative workplace.
- Knowledge of state childcare licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and center compliance requirements.
- Organizational and administrative skills, including recordkeeping, scheduling, and basic budgeting.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain within a designated timeframe.
