Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with patients to assess and treat speech and language disorders. This role is essential in helping children develop effective communication skills, enabling them to succeed academically and socially. The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant will collaborate with SLP, parents, and other professionals to provide individualized treatment tailored to each patient's needs.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
- Provide direct speech therapy services to patient in accordance with their POC.
- Collaborate with SLP, teachers, OT, and others staff to integrate speech therapy goals and activities.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate parents and caregivers about speech and language development and strategies for support at home.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss progress and strategies for intervention.
- Stay current with best practices in speech therapy, including early intervention techniques.
Requirements
- Speech-Language Pathology Assistant degree from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to speech and language disorders.
- Experience working with children, particularly in an outpatient clinical setting or early intervention programs.
- Familiarity with developing IEPs and understanding of special education processes.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with students, families, and educational staff.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team focused on patient success.
- Previous experience working with pediatric populations is preferred.
