Position Summary
We’re seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Data Architecture and BI/Reporting to lead our enterprise data strategy, architecture, and related operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong mortgage or financial services background, a deep understanding of data governance, architecture, analytics and engineering, and the ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical execution.
You’ll oversee the full lifecycle of data — from ingestion and ETL processes to reporting, analytics, visualization, and AI integration — driving the organization’s data maturity and insights capability.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Oversee development of BI reports for all business functions across Kind Lending.
The minimum starting base salary for this position is $160k annually. The actual base is dependent on many factors such as: work experience, business needs, market demands, and other compensation components. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Location:
This position is in office for any candidate residing within 30 miles of the corporate office and remote for all other candidates residing outside that radius.

Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Define and execute Kind Lending’s enterprise data strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Build and lead a team of data engineers, analysts, and BI developers focused on scalability and quality.
- Champion data governance, security, and compliance practices across the organization.
- Define and maintain the enterprise’s underlying data architecture.
- Design and maintain Kind Lending’s enterprise data warehouse and data pipelines, including performance and scalability considerations.
- Spearhead processes to ensure data quality, lineage, and reliability across systems.
Oversee development of BI reports for all business functions across Kind Lending.
- Drive the creation of interactive dashboards and visualizations for executives and business units.
- Partner with lending, operations, and finance teams to deliver actionable insights that improve performance and efficiency.
- Foster adoption of self-service BI tools across departments.
- Lead technical development of enterprise data warehouse changes, ETL jobs, schema design, reporting and dashboard frameworks.
- Evaluate and implement best-in-class tools for data integration, visualization, and governance.
- Work closely with Product, Finance, Technology, and Operations leadership to enable data-driven business decisions.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the C-suite on trends in data, analytics, and automation.
- 10 years of experience in data leadership roles, with at least 5 years in mortgage lending, fintech, or financial services.
- Proven experience managing enterprise data platforms, warehouses, and lakes.
- Strong background in ETL, data modeling, data architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI.
- Expertise with Snowflake.
- Deep understanding of mortgage data structures, LOS integrations, and compliance data requirements.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data insights into business strategy.
- Experience building or scaling enterprise data programs from the ground up.
- Knowledge of machine learning and predictive modeling in lending.
- Strong understanding of API-based data integrations (LOS, CRM, etc.).
- Proven ability to lead high-performance teams in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments.
