Job Posting: Shop Supervisor
Responsibilities:
- Daily Oversight: Supervise day-to-day operations on the shop floor, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and delivery deadlines are met.
- Scheduling: Coordinate labor and machine scheduling based on priorities and capacity. Communicate daily priorities clearly to the team.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to machinists and shop assistants. Conduct check-ins and help resolve challenges.
- Quality Checks: Perform in-process and final inspections as needed, ensuring compliance with print specifications and customer requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify process inefficiencies and collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineer to implement improvements.
- Tooling & Supplies: Monitor tooling and supply needs, and ensure availability to avoid downtime.
- Safety & Cleanliness: Enforce shop safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Communication: Serve as a liaison between the shop floor and management, keeping leadership informed of production status and issues.
- Support Functions: Assist with machining, setup, and troubleshooting when needed to keep work moving.
Qualifications:
- 7 years experience in a CNC machining or manufacturing environment
- Experience supervising or leading a team preferred
- Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, tooling, and quality inspection techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and job travelers
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100 standards a plus
