Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Assistant to support our HR department in various functions related to human capital management, employee relations, and organizational development. This role is integral to ensuring smooth HR operations, compliance with employment and labor laws, and fostering a positive workplace environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organization skills.
Duties
- Assist with talent acquisition processes including onboarding and offboarding processes for new and departing employees
- Support employee orientation programs and facilitate employee evaluation and performance management activities.
- Administer benefits programs, including benefits administration and workers' compensation claims processing.
- Assist with HR projects, such as creating employee handbooks and updating job descriptions
- Support change management initiatives and assist in organizational design projects.
- Help coordinate training & development sessions and manage employee relations issues with professionalism.
- Contribute to affirmative action planning, succession planning, and strategic workforce management efforts.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and employment & labor law regulations through diligent record keeping and documentation.
- Perform administrative tasks such as contract preparation, document filing, and data entry to support HR operations.
Experience
- Proven experience in human resources management or administrative roles within HR departments.
- Knowledge of employment & labor law, OSHA regulations, workers' compensation procedures, and affirmative action planning.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability in data collection, analysis, and reporting related to HR metrics.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
