Experienced Paraprofessional — In-Home Learning and Autism Support

We are seeking a caring, dependable paraprofessional to support our 11-year-old son during home-based learning. He is verbal and curious, with strong interests in building, machines, and hands-on activities.

You will work with our family and an education and behavior support team to make lessons accessible, build confidence, and help him develop greater independence. We welcome applicants available two or three weekdays, as well as those seeking more hours.

Responsibilities

• Help deliver learning activities planned by the educator.
• Provide individual support during reading, writing, math, and other subjects.
• Use visual schedules, clear directions, movement breaks, and other individualized supports.
• Assist with transitions, communication, emotional regulation, and daily routines.
• Follow the behavior support plan and guidance provided by the BCBA.
• Record observations and communicate progress and concerns to the team.
• Support supervised community activities and practical learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience as a paraprofessional, special education aide, or similar support professional.
• Direct experience supporting children with autism.
• Ability to build a trusting relationship while maintaining consistent expectations.
• Comfort adapting activities and following plans developed by educators and clinicians.
• Relevant paraprofessional or special education training preferred.
• Willingness to complete a background check and provide professional references.

Schedule and compensation

Weekday daytime hours with a consistent schedule agreed upon in advance. Compensation based on training and experience.
