Kidz Shine Dental is looking for a detail-oriented and friendly Insurance & Front Office Coordinator to join our team. This role is central to our mission of providing a seamless, stress-free experience for our families. The ideal candidate will be an expert in navigating both PPO and Medi-Cal (Denti-Cal) insurance landscapes while maintaining a warm, "people-first" attitude.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Insurance Coordinator is responsible for the full lifecycle of the billing process, from verifying eligibility to ensuring claims are paid. You will act as the bridge between insurance carriers and our patients, ensuring that coverage is maximized and that parents clearly understand their financial responsibilities.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Insurance & Billing Excellence:
- Verification: Verify eligibility and benefits for all payors, with a high level of proficiency in Denti-Cal and various PPO plans.
- Claim Management: Prepare and electronically submit insurance claims; monitor claims for missing information or necessary authorizations.
- Estimation: Compute total bills showing accurate breakdowns of insurance coverage versus patient responsibility.
- Collections: Post insurance remittance vouchers (EOBs) and manage accounts receivable, including following up on unpaid claims.
- Patient Advocacy: Answer parent questions regarding statements and insurance coverage; develop clear payment plans for treatment.
Front Office Operations:
- Patient Welcome: Greet families warmly and manage the check-in/check-out process.
- Scheduling: Coordinate appointments to maintain an efficient office flow.
- Records: Accurately enter and update patient information and insurance data within the dental practice management software.
- Compliance: Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient records in accordance with HIPAA standards.
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS
- Insurance Expertise: Proven experience working with PPO dental plans and Denti-Cal is required.
- Communication: Ability to explain complex insurance benefits to parents in a professional, empathetic, and clear manner.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using dental software and MS Office; experience with electronic claim submission is essential.
- Team Mindset: A proactive team player who is willing to assist with various front-office tasks as needed.
- Organization: Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage time effectively under the pace of a busy pediatric office.

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
