Rooms
Afterschool ages 5 to 12 years of age. Must be 18 years of age. Hours range from: 2:30 pm - 6 pm. Part-time.
Duties
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social skills for children in the daycare setting
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, nap times, and educational activities to ensure safety and well-being
- Support children's emotional development through positive behavior management and encouragement
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians about children's progress, needs, and daily experiences
- Assist with diapering, feeding, and basic infant care as needed for younger children
- Follow all licensing regulations and daycare policies to ensure compliance and safety at all times
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and age-specific needs for infants through preschoolers
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or similar settings
- Proficiency in classroom management techniques that foster positive behavior and engagement
- Ability to perform first aid and CPR to respond confidently in emergency situations
- Knowledge of special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and connect with families
- Compassionate caregiving skills combined with patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm for early childhood education
