Position Overview
The Human Resources Assistant provides essential administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Department while delivering a high level of customer service to associates, applicants, and visitors. This role plays a key part in ensuring HR processes run efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as administrative support for the Human Resources Department
- Greet and assist associates, applicants, and visitors, directing them to the appropriate HR team member
- Coordinate onboarding activities, including processing clearances, creating new hire files, registering associates for orientation and training, and generating associate ID numbers
- Maintain employee files for both active and terminated associates
- Open, sort, and distribute inter-company and federal mail for the HR Department
- Perform general administrative and clerical duties, including filing and data entry
- Assist with special projects and other HR-related initiatives as assigned
- Support root cause analysis efforts and assist with investigative reports
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in Human Resources or related field preferred
- Prior administrative or HR support experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems (or ability to learn quickly)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
