KidsPeace in Ellsworth, Maine, is seeking a Nursing Transportation Aide to safely transport children in our care to medical appointments and provide professional support to our nursing and medical teams. This role plays a key part in ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of every child we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport children to and from medical appointments on time.
- Communicate medical updates to providers and nursing staff.
- Supervise children during transport and while in the community, ensuring their safety and care.
- Provide minor first aid as needed.
- Schedule appointments, complete required documentation, and maintain accurate medical records.
- Order and restock medical supplies; assist with medication packing as needed.
- Communicate clearly and sensitively with children according to their clinical and emotional needs.
- Perform crisis intervention and restraints when necessary, using approved KidsPeace methods.
- Collect and input medical data and prepare reports as requested.
- Provide training and support to fellow employees, and assist remote sites as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in mental health or related field preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
- Must obtain and maintain Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) certification (training provided).
- Strong communication, organizational, and crisis intervention skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
Schedule: Monday -Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM
