Position Summary
The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant implements therapy activities as directed by the supervising SLP, collects session data, and supports the delivery of high-quality communication services to assigned clients. The SLPA practices exclusively within the SLPA scope of practice as defined by Oklahoma law and
ASHA guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement therapy activities, techniques, and procedures as directed and delegated by the supervising SLP — no independent evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment plan development
- Collect accurate session data on all targeted communication goals and record in the Rethink EMR per supervising SLP instructions
- Actively participate in all scheduled SLP supervision contacts and implement feedback
- Communicate any client changes, family concerns, or safety issues to the supervising SLP immediately
- Maintain professional, therapeutic boundaries with clients and families at all times
- Complete documentation in the Rethink EMR on the date of service; notes must be reviewed by the supervising SLP before finalization
- Maintain current Oklahoma SLPA certification through required renewal
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology assisting or related field
- Current, active SLPA certification from the Oklahoma Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology
- Experience working with pediatric populations preferred
- No active disciplinary sanctions on Oklahoma certification
- Clearance of all required background checks and OIG/SAM.gov exclusion screens
