Company Description
Kids Thrive provides specialized outpatient treatment programs for children ages 3-12 facing significant mental health challenges. Through a structured environment and activities, we help children develop critical skills such as following directions, taking turns, and asking for help to prepare them for success in school settings. Using the Developmental Repair Model, we focus on rebuilding children's ability to navigate group interactions and shared adult attention. Collaboration with families is a cornerstone of our approach, as parents and caregivers participate in family therapy and coaching to manage behaviors and support their child's growth.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a School Therapist based in Sandusky, OH. The School Therapist will develop and implement treatment plans, provide individual and group therapy sessions for children, and lead family therapy and parent coaching sessions. They will work closely with parents, caregivers, and school staff to address children’s mental health needs and support their emotional and social development for success in school environments. The therapist will also conduct assessments, stay informed on best practices, and document casework.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Treatment Planning and Case Management to effectively assess, plan, and coordinate care for children
- Experience or educational background in Social Work and Psychology
- Expertise in Family Therapy and understanding of parent coaching techniques
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with families and school staff
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure in counseling, social work, or a related field
- Knowledge of childhood mental health challenges and developmental milestones
- Previous experience working with young children in therapeutic or educational settings is preferred
