Duties
- Develop and implement dynamic lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and social-emotional development through effective classroom management and behavior management techniques.
- Facilitate engaging activities that support childhood development milestones, special education needs, and early intervention strategies tailored to individual children.
- Collaborate with families to communicate progress, discuss individualized plans for children requiring additional support such as speech therapy or other services.
- Conduct ongoing assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor child progress and inform instructional adjustments.
- Maintain detailed documentation of classroom activities, child progress reports, and compliance records in accordance with program guidelines.
- Supervise assistant teachers and classroom staff to ensure high-quality childcare and preschool experience consistent with licensing requirements.
Qualifications
- Associates degree in early childhood education or bachelors degree in early childhood education (preferred)
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings such as daycare, preschool, or private schools.
- Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, special education practices, early intervention programs, and literacy education strategies.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, staff, and community partners.
- Familiarity with standardized testing assessment tools used in early childhood education environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating leadership qualities as a Head Start Lead Teacher.
