Through our distribution of school supplies, support for teachers, and investment in educational initiatives, we strive to make a meaningful impact on the lives of teachers and students across the country. As we continue to expand our reach and deepen our impact, we are seeking a talented, self-driven Coordinator to join our high-performing team.

Position Summary

This role is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the KINF the Volunteer Program. They will work to ensure program policies, practices and implementation support the mission of the Kids In Need Foundation and provide an impactful experience for volunteers. This role will directly supervise Volunteer Programs for Teacher Resource Center, production and other programs that will be planned during the year.

Responsibilities:

Volunteer Program

  • Serve as the first point of contact for volunteers and KINF volunteer programs
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations of the volunteer program, including, effective direct supervision and scheduling of staff.
  • Responsible for a positive on-site experience for both volunteers, including volunteer schedules, maintaining the physical appearance of the Volunteer areas, and working with the team to create a welcoming environment.
  • Administer KINF’s Volunteer Management System (GivePulse) to communicate with and schedule volunteers.
  • Ensure timely communication with volunteers, staff, and community partners, including monitoring both the volunteer schedule and the. Lead volunteer training and on-boarding.
  • Lead various sized volunteer groups several times a week, including volunteer events in the evenings and one to two Saturdays a month as needed.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for program growth and improvement and propose solutions Cultivate relationships with current volunteers to continue and expand individual engagement. Ensure sufficient volunteer coverage for all areas, including regularly assessing and communicating the number of volunteers needed to fulfill program needs. Recruit volunteers and continue building relationships to promote growth. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Work with the Impact Partnerships team to identify opportunities for growth in relationships with partners through volunteering and engagement.

Operations & Fulfillment

  • Manage production of key program kits (backpacks, Supply a Teacher boxes, 3M Teacher Supply Boxes, etc)
  • Ensure proper inventory levels of bulk product maintained work with Warehouse and Procurement team to forecast product needs
  • Forecast, plan, and manage production to meet key dates for partners and schools
  • Plan volunteer production to fulfill key programs on time
  • Recruit and deploy volunteers to meet programmatic needs for production, Teacher Resource Center and events
  • Identify opportunities for growth through increased production efficiency and experience for volunteers
  • Collaborate with fulfillment team to ensure all activations are on time
  • Proactively communicate upcoming needs with warehouse team to ensure product is ready for production for volunteers
  • Identify opportunities for new volunteer involvement to increase KINF’s impact
  • Utilize quality assurance methods to maintain a high level of accuracy on kitted products

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in related field or equivalent experience may substitute
  • 4 years of work experience in similar role
  • 3 years of supervisory experience
  • 3 years outreach and program management experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively on cross-functional teams with integrity and professionalism and foster close relationships with internal and external teams.
  • High attention to detail, organization, and the ability to multi-task across multiple projects. Proven time-management skills with the ability to respond to time-critical issues and meet project deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicting priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite of applications, G Suite applications, and Salesforce Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during store hours
  • Ability to use pallet jack
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly (e.g., stocking shelves, moving boxes)
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and stretching required to organize inventory and maintain displays
  • Occasional assistance with larger shipments or volunteer event set-up
  • Occasional work in medium noise level setting

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range:

  • $54,075 - $61,950
