Description:

The Therapist is to deliver therapy to all residents and their families at a minimum of once a week. The Therapist should have knowledge of family systems, and uses this approach when working with residents and their families. The Therapist is to develop, along with residents, individual and family treatment goals. Coordinating and collaborating mental health treatment by developing positive relationship with resident, family and community agencies. Therapist will participate in all areas of the resident’s treatment throughout their length of stay at KC1, Inc.

Qualifications:

· Master’s Degree in Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work or Related Field &

· One-year experience working with children and families

Requirements:

· Completion of Physical and TB Test

Primary Duties:

· Meet with residents and their families minimally once a week;

· Collaborate and communicate regularly with numerous providers regarding the ongoing treatment of the resident;

· Complete all admission, discharge paperwork, and court reports within appropriate time frames;

· Complete all family assessment tools within appropriate time frames;

· Prepare weekend visits and paperwork, obtain Psychiatrist signature of approved visit, collaborate and communicate with Residents, Families, and Staff regarding when weekend visits occur, and review most recent weekend visit during family sessions;

· As a mandated reported you will be required by Law to report any suspected child abuse;

· Complete all necessary Emergency Safety Intervention Reports, Recordable Reports, Reportable Reports, and Child-Line Reports;

· Attend Weekly Staff Supervision Meetings;

· Develop and run a therapy group session, at a minimum of once a week;

· Work closely with residents to develop a therapeutic relationship with residents;

· Develop a positive and supportive relationship with other staff when working with the residents;

· Conceptualize the child and families treatment with a systematic approach;

· Follow work requests given by Clinical Director and Director of Operations;

· Be present in the resident house to observe residents and interactions with other residents and staff;

· Required to obtain family signatures on documents provided by the Clinical Director, Director of Operations, Compliance Officer, or Case Manager;

· Meeting competencies including: job knowledge, planning & organizational skills, quality and quantity of work, dependability and promptness, written and oral communication skills, cooperation and collaboration, initiative, & use of professional ethics and compliance;

· Create Treatment Goals and update monthly with Residents and their families;

· Attend and complete any attached paperwork during monthly Treatment Team Meetings with Resident, County Representatives, Family Members, and Value Behavioral Health Representatives;

· Interview, Supervise and Work with Intern Students;

· Video Tape/Record family sessions, only as requested by the Clinical Director for supervision;

· Complete all required documentation for your position and necessary documentation for resident’s treatment;

· Attend any supervision requested or required by the Clinical Director;

· Attend all required trainings, 40 hours per year required;

· Must keep work space clean and organized throughout each shift;

· Use of best practice approaches;

· Communicate effectively and professionally – verbal and writing skills;

· Establish and maintain positive professional relationships;

· Knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses and medications;

· Knowledge of child development;

· Knowledge of medical diagnoses and medications;

· Effectively manage children and adolescents with behavioral and mental health issues

· Trauma Duties & Responsibilities;

o Strong understanding of impact of trauma on all aspects of functioning

o Provide training to staff on trauma Informed Practice/Policies

o Adhere to strengths-based framework of Trauma Informed Care.

o Create and maintain trauma Informed environment agency wide, including staying current on trends in the field

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
