Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs, ensuring compliance with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and other relevant policies
- Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment for children across preschool, early childhood, and elementary levels
- Provide physical assistance and behavioral support to students with disabilities or behavioral disorders, including those requiring sensory or mobility accommodations
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and execute lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math fundamentals, and curriculum development aligned with age-appropriate standards
- Support students during classroom activities, including childcare routines, preschool activities, toddler care, and special education interventions
- Assist in behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and social skills among students with autism spectrum disorders or other developmental disabilities
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational settings such as private schools, preschools, or early childhood programs is highly desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices
- Experience supporting students with disabilities or special needs in classroom support roles or similar environments
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques tailored for students with behavioral disorders or autism spectrum disorders
- Proficiency in curriculum support areas such as literacy education, basic math skills, and classroom support in special education settings
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining professional integrity
- Strong communication and writing skills to document student progress and collaborate effectively with team members
