What you’ll do
- Assist in the planning and execution of age-appropriate lesson plans that encourage literacy, math, and overall childhood development.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, organized, and stimulating learning environment.
- Engage with children through interactive activities that promote curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and collaboration.
- Implement behavior management strategies to address individual needs and support children with diverse abilities, including those on the autism spectrum or with other disabilities.
- Assist in curriculum development that aligns with educational standards while catering to the unique needs of each child.
- Provide care for toddlers and preschool-aged children while ensuring their safety and well-being during all activities.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance your skills in early childhood education.
Basic qualifications
- Experience working with children in a daycare or educational setting.
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles, including childhood development theories.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff members.
Preferred qualifications
- Background in special education or experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or other progressive educational philosophies.
