Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, social skills, and emotional development for children in your care
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, nap times, and outdoor activities to ensure safety at all times
- Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior guidance strategies
- Monitor each child's progress and communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding their child's development and needs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized attention as needed
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and age-specific caregiving techniques
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or similar settings with classroom experience preferred
- Certification in first aid and CPR to ensure safety during emergencies
- Familiarity with special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
- Excellent classroom management skills to foster positive behavior and engagement
- Ability to nurture and care for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with diverse needs
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with parents, colleagues, and caregivers
- Demonstrated patience, compassion, and enthusiasm for working with young children
