FT Bartender

Job Purpose:   Serves guests alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks; safeguards patrons.

Essential Functions:

1. Prepare mixed drinks by selecting and mixing ingredients according to recipes.
2. Garnishes drinks by slicing and pitting fruits; placing on picks or in drinks.
3. Prepares beer barrels by connecting hose couplings and connecting barrels to tap.
4. Serves beer by filling glasses with beer drawn from tap; retrieving and opening requested-brand bottles.
5. Serves wine by opening bottles; decanting; and/or pouring by-the-glass offerings.
6. Responsible for making change out of issued banks.
7. Provides bar snacks by replenishing pretzels, nuts, and special mixes.
8. Maintains attractive bar by arranging bottles and glasses for display; removing soiled glassware and empty bottles and cans; ensuring cleanliness.
9. Maintains supplies by ordering, requisitioning, or re-stocking snacks, liquors, wines, beer, and non-alcoholic ingredients; replacing beer barrels.
10. Prepares trash for disposal.
11. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy bar, and patrons by following and enforcing standards and procedures; judging when guests have consumed too much alcohol; calling for alternate transportation; complying with legal ABLE and health regulations.
12. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; keeping abreast of drink trends; exploring new recipes.
13. Enhances bar’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add to job accomplishments; safeguarding customers.
14. Professional appearance (well groomed).
15. Provide friendly and courteous customer service.
16. Performs other duties and projects as required by management

 Physical Requirements:

• Walking or standing for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing and visual acuity.
• Frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs)
• Occasional lifting (up to 150 lbs)
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and staff.
• Ability to organize and coordinate multi tasks.

Working Conditions

• Typical of that in a busy casino with heavy cigarette smoke accompanied with a variety of competing noises and communications.
• Flexible hours (week-ends, nights, holidays)

Minimum Qualifications for Consideration

• Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum one year bartending experience or two years serving beverages.
• Must have basic math skills and cash handling skills.
• Must have very good communication and written skills.
• Ability to work any shifts, start time, weekends, and holidays.
• ABLE Liquor License. Receipt will serve as license for 30 days.
• Documents that establish both Identity and Employment Eligibility.
• Kickapoo Tribal Gaming License.
