KHBB Law is seeking a legal assistant with motivation and initiative, able to handle multiple tasks from multiple individuals, who excels at interpersonal, oral, and written communication with excellent grammar and diction. This professional must exhibit strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and ability to work independently. Prior administrative and/or work experience in the legal industry is preferred, but at a minimum, candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
Located in downtown Seattle, KHBB Law is a boutique law firm with a focus on advising clients about estate planning, probate, trust administration, and handling disputes involving such matters. Because much of the work involves handling important original documents (wills and trusts), this position cannot be done remotely.
Specific duties & responsibilities include:
- Provide administrative support for attorneys and paralegals.
- Act as a witness for the execution of original documents with attorney and client.
- Promptly handle important original documents and store in building vault.
- Communicate directly with clients via telephone and email.
- Open digital client files on client management system, including preparation of conflict check notices and engagement letters, and assist with keeping files organized.
- Scan, mail, and email correspondence and documents.
- Prepare and edit client related letters and documents.
- Transport materials to the post office on as-needed basis.
- Assist paralegals with court filings and preparation of documents.
- Create, edit, and mail invoices.
- Greet clients for in-person meetings; accept deliveries; deliver mail within the firm.
