Duties
- Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements using OpenTable or similar reservation systems
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, utilizing POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to ensure seamless transactions
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations and upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and POS operations with precision and integrity
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, bussing dishes promptly, and supporting kitchen staff with basic food handling or food preparation when needed
- Uphold food safety standards by adhering to sanitation protocols, proper food handling procedures, and restaurant policies
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build guest relations and handle guest inquiries professionally
- Familiarity with POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently using sales techniques like suggestive selling and open-ended questions
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with server tools such as OpenTable for reservations management is a plus
- Basic math skills for cashiering, cash handling, and accurate billing
