RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Orlando, FL that is seeking a Cloud Computing Engineer III (Azure Firewall) for an onsite role.
Overview:
This role focuses on building, operating, and maintaining cloud firewall technologies, network security services, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), and load balancing platforms within a modern, multi-cloud architecture. The Engineer will play a key role in daily cloud security operations, software-defined networking, zero-trust implementation, and enterprise security policy management. The position also partners closely with application teams and infrastructure stakeholders to ensure secure, resilient, and well-governed cloud services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build, secure, and maintain enterprise cloud firewall and network security services
* Configure and administer next-generation firewall capabilities including intrusion prevention, TLS inspection, threat intelligence, URL filtering, and DNS security
* Design and manage firewall policies supporting zero-trust, segmentation, and compliance requirements
* Monitor firewall performance and capacity; tune configurations for availability, performance, and cost efficiency
* Operate and tune Web Application Firewall (WAF) policies in partnership with application teams
* Support load balancing and application delivery services, including configuration review and health monitoring
* Respond to cloud network security incidents and coordinate investigations and remediation
* Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for cloud network security resources using automation tools and version control
* Participate in cloud implementations, migrations, and hybrid connectivity initiatives
* Consult internal stakeholders to translate business needs into secure cloud network designs
* Create and maintain documentation, standards, and runbooks
* Provide Tier 2/3 support and participate in an on-call rotation for a 24x7 environment
REQUIREMENTS:
* High School diploma (or GED equivalent) and 8 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree and 4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
* Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with after-hours and on-call support required
Preferred Qualifications:
* Hands-on experience with Azure Firewall / Azure Firewall Premium and enterprise cloud security services
* Working knowledge of Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, UDRs, Private Endpoints, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways, Azure Virtual WAN)
* Experience with next-generation firewalls, WAF administration, and load balancing concepts
* Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, Ansible)
* Proficiency in PowerShell and/or Python
* Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
* Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and zero-trust principles
* Excellent documentation and communication skills
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
