Tax Senior

Responsibilities

Kforce's client, a well-established and respected firm, is seeking an experienced Tax Senior in Quincy, MA to prepare and review complex tax returns, support tax planning and research, and provide guidance to tax staff. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to manage client relationships, contribute to staff development, and collaborate with professionals across the firm. This role provides an opportunity to expand your technical tax expertise, take on increasing client responsibility, mentor developing professionals, and contribute to the continued growth of a collaborative public accounting practice. • Prepare complex individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns
• Review individual tax returns prepared by tax staff and other team members
• Conduct basic and complex tax research
• Serve as a technical resource for tax staff
• Collaborate with colleagues on tax planning for individual, corporate, partnership, and trust clients
• Review federal, state, and local tax notices and prepare responses
• Draft client correspondence and contribute to tax-related articles and communications
• Delegate assignments and supervise tax staff
• Establish clear expectations and performance measures for assigned team members
• Assist with training tax and accounting personnel
• Serve as the primary client contact for smaller engagements
• Participate in tax department and firm-wide administrative projects
• Build collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization
• Develop professional and referral relationships through networking and prospective client meetings
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field from an accredited institution; CPA license preferred but not required
• Three to four years of progressive public accounting tax experience
• Proficiency with tax preparation software and tax research tools
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe products
• Strong technical tax preparation and research skills
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities
• Self-directed and motivated approach with a commitment to accuracy, responsiveness, and high-quality work
• Strong client relationship and service skills
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to support, train, and guide other team members
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tax compliance and client deadlines
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
