Kforce has a client in Baltimore, MD that is seeking a Payroll Specialist. Responsibilities:
- Process and support payroll for multiple employee groups across weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and off-cycle runs
- Audit payroll data, including timekeeping interfaces, deductions, tax withholdings, and garnishments
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, overpayments, and employee inquiries
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate payroll processing
- Assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and analysis
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and identify process improvements
- Provide backup support for payroll functions as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information
- Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent required
- Payroll certification is a plus
- 3 years of payroll, HR, or related administrative experience
- Understanding of payroll processes, tax withholdings, and deductions
- Experience with payroll systems and timekeeping tools preferred
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
