Network Engineer

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client seeking a Network Engineer in Boca Raton, Fl to join a growing infrastructure team. This position is responsible for the design, administration, maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of enterprise network and security environments spanning on-premises data centers and Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on networking expertise, experience supporting complex multi-site environments, and a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues while maintaining thorough documentation and operational excellence. Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, and monitor enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and cloud networking environments
• Manage Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including security policies, NAT, VPN connectivity, threat prevention, and URL filtering
• Design, implement, and support Azure networking components, including VNets, peering, VPN Gateway, Azure Firewall, NSGs, and routing
• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching environments and Cisco UCS Fabric Interconnect infrastructure
• Support routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP within a multi-site network architecture
• Maintain and troubleshoot site-to-site IPSec VPN connectivity with business partners and vendors
• Support NetApp storage networking and replication technologies
• Monitor network performance and availability using enterprise monitoring tools
• Perform incident response, root cause analysis, and long-term remediation activities
• Create and maintain network diagrams, IP address management records, technical documentation, and operational runbooks
• Assist with hardware installation, cabling, refresh initiatives, security administration, access reviews, and vulnerability remediation
• Participate in after-hours maintenance activities and on-call support rotations
  
  

Requirements

• 5 years of network engineering or network administration experience
• Experience supporting Cisco Catalyst and Cisco Nexus switching environments
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls, security policies, NAT, and VPN technologies
• Experience with at least one dynamic routing protocol, including OSPF, EIGRP, or BGP
• Experience supporting enterprise storage connectivity, preferably NetApp environments
• Experience supporting network security solutions and Zero Trust initiatives
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, NAT, DNS, DHCP, and network troubleshooting methodologies
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure networking services, including VNets, peering, VPN Gateway, NSGs, and routing
• Familiarity with network monitoring, alerting, and performance management tools
• Strong troubleshooting abilities utilizing packet captures, logs, and diagnostic tools
• Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Palo Alto Networks certification (PCNSA or equivalent role-based certification)
• Cisco CCNA certification
• Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-700 or AZ-104
• NetApp certification and storage networking experience
• Experience with Cisco UCS X-Series and Intersight
• Advanced IPSec VPN design and troubleshooting experience
• Exposure to virtualization, server, or storage infrastructure environments
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
