Lead Software Engineer

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Miami, FL that is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join their team on a contract role to support incoming project work. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and deploying software applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with project stakeholders (product owners, UX researchers, data team, QA team, project managers, cross team leads and designers) to understand functional and non-functional requirements
• Promote a collaborative team environment and work closely with colleagues to achieve business objectives
• Responsible for planning work estimation and forecasting
• Adhere to architecture, design, implementation, security standards and best practices
• Investigate and propose solutions to development and design problems
• Conduct analysis to determine integration needs, and design and plan integrations
• Prepare technical documentation, including software design evaluation plans and test results
• Write high-quality code that satisfies customer needs and strives for simplicity, clarity, and testability
• Implement unit and integration tests and conduct functional and performance testing where appropriate
• Participate in code reviews or use collaborative programming techniques to promote high quality business outcomes
• Develop reusable software building blocks to enable faster delivery
• Improve performance of existing software by diagnosing and resolving critical issues
• Establish development practices and processes
• Manage and mentor software engineers
  
  

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science and worked at a company for 5 years with web technology stack and web standards or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or equivalent degree and worked at a company for 7 years with web technology stack and web standards
• C# (7 years) with deep understanding of advanced principles of client-side and server-side development
• Strong hands-on experience with .NET/.NET 8 and ASP.NET MVC
• JavaScript and experience with a component UI library (Kendo UI strongly preferred)
• Proven track record for architecting, scaling and implementing complex technical solutions
• Proven track record of leadership in Agile environments, with excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a passion for mentoring and empowering team members
• Proven background in configuring and securing file transfer protocols and converting to an automated process using API to trigger, monitor and automate file movements
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and integration patterns
• Knowledge in building and tooling processes such as CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and package managers, coupled with extensive experience in debugging and troubleshooting complex issues
• SQL Server proficiency, including stored procedures, triggers, views, and functions
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
