Our Kforce client is seeking an experienced Investment Tax Accountant to join a high-performing, collaborative team within a leading financial services organization in the Springfield, (MA) region. This role focuses on tax compliance and reporting for complex investment transactions, including U.S. and international tax aspects (PFICs, CFCs, foreign partnerships, withholding taxes). The work model includes three days in-office (with flexible scheduling), remote Fridays, and additional remote weeks throughout the year. - Support securities tax operations, focusing on system and process efficiency, and contribute to strategic initiatives involving partnerships, real estate, and derivatives
- Analyze securities transactions and processes to ensure accurate tax outcomes and maintain a reliable control environment
- Participate in cross-functional projects to develop, enhance, and automate tax processes, onboard new transactions, and implement tax legislation changes
- Monitor and track tax data quality and performance using specialized investment processing systems, comparing results to general ledger data
- Engage in daily operational governance meetings to address system issues and changes within the investment data ecosystem
- Test software upgrades to ensure accurate application and continued system functionality
- Maintain accurate tax basis for investments and apply appropriate rules to exception situations
- Analyze differences between tax basis and statutory or GAAP accounting for various investment types
- Review new investment transactions to determine correct tax treatment and operational efficiency
- Execute internal controls for investments and reconcile deferred tax balances
- Prepare wash sales analysis and maintain tax planning strategies
- BS Degree, Master's degree in Taxation and/or CPA certification. BIG 4 foundation - MST a plus
- 8 years of tax experience, ideally in large financial services or public accounting environments
- 6 years of tax experience, preferably in public accounting or financial services
- Advanced technical knowledge of tax code, regulations, and GAAP accounting (ASC 740), with experience in statutory accounting principles
- Experience with business intelligence applications (e.g., Alteryx), investment systems platforms, and data interfaces between ERP and tax systems
- Understanding of tax treatments for various securities and investment types, including partnerships, LLCs, real estate, and derivatives
- Proficient in Excel and workpaper organization, integrating systems and analytical results
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- General knowledge of corporate taxation and its integration with broader compliance, reporting, and audit frameworks
- Experience with U.S. tax aspects of non-U.S. transactions and reporting
- Experience with large, multidisciplinary projects impacting tax, such as ERP implementations and finance transformations
- Familiarity with financial and accounting systems (e.g., SAP)
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and multitask in a dynamic environment
- Project management skills and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- Intellectual curiosity and a drive to broaden knowledge beyond core responsibilities

Salary : $115,000 - $145,000
