Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Database Administrator in West Springfield, MA. Summary: Our client is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage, support, and optimize enterprise database environments across on-premises and cloud platforms. This role is responsible for ensuring database availability, performance, security, and recoverability while partnering with infrastructure, development, security, and analytics teams to support critical business applications and data platforms. Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and support Microsoft SQL Server environments across on-premises and cloud platforms
• Ensure database availability, reliability, performance, and scalability
• Monitor database health, uptime, replication, and system performance
• Design, implement, and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions
• Manage database security, access controls, permissions, and compliance requirements
• Perform query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning activities
• Support application teams with database design, schema changes, deployments, and production readiness
• Troubleshoot database performance, connectivity, and access issues
• Participate in on-call support and production incident resolution
• Develop automation for monitoring, maintenance, alerting, and operational efficiencies
• Lead or contribute to database migrations, upgrades, and modernization initiatives
• Maintain database documentation, standards, and operational procedures
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, security, development, analytics, and vendor teams
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred
• Experience as a Database Administrator supporting enterprise environments
• Experience managing both on-premises and cloud-based database platforms
• Experience with SQL replication, monitoring, and high-availability environments
• Hands-on experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
• Experience with automation, scripting, and operational process improvement
• Experience supporting Microsoft technology ecosystems
• Knowledge of database architecture, design, normalization, and performance tuning
• Understanding of database security, access management, and compliance best practices
• Strong expertise with Microsoft SQL Server administration and support
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to troubleshoot complex database, performance, and connectivity issues
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator Associate
• Other database administration or cloud platform certifications
• Experience with database migrations, cloud integrations, and modernization initiatives
• Experience developing database automation solutions using PowerShell, T-SQL, SQL Agent, Azure Automation, or similar tools
• Experience automating monitoring, alerting, maintenance, patching, backup validation, and deployment processes
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
