Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support a growing privacy-focused development team. This individual will serve as a critical liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, with a primary focus on gathering and documenting requirements, writing user stories, and ensuring the backlog is actively progressing. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical foundation, be comfortable working in an Agile environment, and have experience with systems undergoing cloud-based transformations (AWS preferred). Responsibilities:
- Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure accurate and actionable requirements
- Gather and document comprehensive business and technical requirements for development initiatives
- Create clear, concise user stories and maintain a well-groomed backlog
- Collaborate closely with engineers to communicate API-related and other technical requirements
- Support ongoing efforts to automate privacy-related ETL processes in accordance with government regulations
- Collaborate with the Product Owner to ensure stories align with product vision and roadmap
- Contribute to documentation efforts on internal platforms such as Chalk
- Utilize JIRA for backlog and ticket management (training available if needed)
- Develop and maintain process flows as needed to support system and process understanding
- 3-5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role
- Demonstrated experience acting as a liaison between business users and technical teams
- Strong understanding of APIs and ability to communicate technical requirements to engineers
- Proficiency in gathering and documenting both business and technical requirements
- Experience writing user stories and participating in backlog refinement
- Familiarity with JIRA or similar tools
- Exposure to data environments including ETL pipelines and/or SQL
- Understanding of privacy regulations or experience in privacy-focused projects
- Project management experience
- Experience creating process flows
- Background working in Agile/Scrum development environments
