Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor and record vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents’ health stability
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and maintain detailed medication records within electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, implementing memory care techniques and behavior management strategies
- Support residents with assisted living needs by helping with meal preparation, light cleaning, and maintaining a safe living environment
- Engage residents in social activities and recreational programs to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Document care activities thoroughly and communicate effectively with team members regarding resident progress or concerns
Skills
- Proven experience in long-term care settings such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or personal care homes
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and memory support techniques
- Ability to perform first aid and respond effectively in emergency situations
- Familiarity with EMR systems for accurate documentation of resident information and care plans
- Strong skills in medication administration and vital signs monitoring
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members, residents, and families effectively
- Valid driver’s license preferred for community outings or transportation needs
