What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper position at Keystone Place at Buzzards Bay?
Primary Purpose and Job Function:The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of all facility areas excluding the kitchen. All responsibilities will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the Keystone Place philosophy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs general housekeeping duties in resident apartments, bathrooms, beauty shop and offices, including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, laundry/linen cleaning, etc….
- Cleans resident apartments and offices, daily, per the schedule.
- Accomplishes all the work in the order of priority set by the Facilities Director.
- Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition and notifies Facilities Director to order supplies as needed.
- Maintains resident confidentiality at all times.
- Follows infection control procedures.
- Attends in-service training and educational sessions, as assigned.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
- Assist in all other departments when needed to ensure resident needs are met and quality of care is maintained at all times.
- Attends staff meetings.
Qualifications/Specifications
Education: Ability to understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively. Must be able to work flexible hours. Must be able to relate to residents and staff in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances.
Experience: Previous housekeeping experience preferred but will train.
Complexity: Ability to plan and prioritize work duties under the direction of the Facilities Director. Must be able to refer or answer resident questions and understand requests.
Supervision: Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Director. Must be able to follow through without close supervision.
Other Contacts: Constant contact with residents and guests. Contact requires the ability to communicate with residents in written form and verbally, and exhibit a cooperative and courteous attitude despite simultaneous tasks.
Confidentiality: May be exposed to confidential information disclosure of which would be contrary to the best interest of the facility and professional ethics.
Physical Demands: Position requires the ability to perform complex tasks that require gross and fine motor skills. Must have the ability to lift 25 pounds. Demonstrates physical dexterity to withstand walking or standing for long periods of time. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
Working Condition: Works in a clean, well-lighted household environment with exposure to varying degrees of noise, odors, dust, fumes and cleaning chemicals.
Safety: Requires the ability to understand and follow policies and procedures of infection control, disaster preparedness, safety rules and regulations and facility policies.
Equipment: Must operate various housekeeping equipment.
