ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties of the Full Time Traveling Perfusionist include, but are not limited to, the safe performance and management of:
-Cardiopulmonary bypass / extracorporeal circulation
-Counterpulsation / Intra-aortic Balloon Pump
-Ventricular assist devices
-Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)
-Autotransfusion / Blood conservation
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
-Graduation from an accredited perfusion-training program.
-American board of cardiovascular perfusion (ABCP) certification
-Must possess a Pennsylvania perfusion license
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Required Skills: Ability to read, write and speak the English language; Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; Ability to collaborate with other health care providers in the provision of patient care; Ability to multi-task essential; Ability to function in stressful and emergency situations essential; Strong detail orientation required; Computer skills required; Personal time management skills are required.
Required Minimum Experience: Two (2) years clinical experience in acute care setting preferred. Basic computer skills required. Ability to enter information into an electronic medical record, Basic medical terminology required.
