Are you passionate about helping young people develop confidence, independence, and the skills they need to succeed? Red Rock Job Corps Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Advisors to join our team in Lopez, PA.
As a Residential Advisor, you’ll play an important role in the daily lives of our students—providing guidance, encouragement, structure, and support while helping create a safe, respectful, and positive living environment.
Swing Shift :
Saturday and Sunday 8am to 5pm
Monday Tuesday and Wednesday 1130pm to 830am
Overnight Shift:
1130pm to 830am (off Thursday and Friday)
What You’ll Do
As a Residential Advisor, you will:
- Mentor and guide students in developing positive attitudes, appropriate behavior, and successful group-living skills.
- Encourage students to work toward their personal, educational, and career goals.
- Provide guidance, counseling, group sessions, and independent-living skills instruction.
- Monitor dormitories and center areas to promote safety, security, and appropriate student behavior.
- Identify and help resolve potential or ongoing student concerns and conflicts.
- Arrange student visits with counselors when appropriate.
- Support dormitory activities, including student unit government and peer leadership opportunities.
- Model positive behaviors and mentor students through both positive reinforcement and appropriate interventions.
- Help students develop career success standards and the life skills necessary for successful transition beyond Job Corps.
- Assist students with dormitory cleanup, organization, and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate student files, case notes, daily reports, pass lists, and other required documentation.
- Recommend and requisition supplies needed for student living and dormitory safety.
- Provide exceptional customer service to students, staff, and other center customers.
- Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps Zero Tolerance Policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, mentoring, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for students.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
Preferred:
- Valid in-state driver's license.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, lift, pull and/or push, carry, reach, stoop, and crouch. Candidates must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and/or appropriately assess a load and request assistance when needed.
