Keystone Engineering is currently seeking an experienced Lead E&I Designer to join our Baton Rouge team.
Position Type: Full-time
Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Work Environment: Office/Sedentary
Travel Requirements: On-site client facility
Essential Functions:
- Understands drafting requirements for his/her discipline.
- Adapt to Client Drafting Standards and Specifications which apply to his/her discipline for assigned projects.
- Understands the designs for any system within his/her discipline once design guidelines and system criteria have been established.
- Responsible for the constructability, operability, and maintainability of the design within his/her discipline for the assigned project.
- Provides comprehensive, efficient, and cost-effective technical input into design related to his/her discipline for assigned projects.
- Responsible for the preparation of detailed design drawings within his/her discipline, in accordance with engineering design, required as project deliverables.
- Provides continual guidance to drafters within his/her discipline for assigned projects.
- Maintains and keeps organizes a Job Data Book which contains all the pertinent information used during the design for his/her discipline for assigned project.
- Reviews drawings within his/her discipline for assigned projects on a regular basis for completeness, overall quality, and adherence to standards.
- Ensures all drawings within his/her discipline for assigned projects have been properly checked and backchecked.
- Prepares and/or directs the preparation of final drawing plots and copies for transmittal relative to all project deliverables.
- Possesses awareness of project schedule and budget.
- Assists with Project Audits when required.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
- 15 years of working experience in the Petro/Chemical Industry.
- Experience in \"Lead\" project role; mentoring, and delegation.
- Understands facilities drawings, cable routing, details, cable tray routing, cable schedules, motor starter schematics, I/O list, panel design, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Experience Preferred:
- Associate's degree in CAD.
- Previous O & G experience.
