Position Description:
A Youth Program Facilitator is responsible for coordinating, leading, and delivering high quality out-of-school time programming for youth enrolled in the Community Kids program. This role provides daily program leadership, oversees youth supervision and lesson planning, supports staff, and builds partnerships across Keystone youth programs and external partners.
This is a year-round position that follows the Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) calendar during the school year and operates full programming during the summer session.
The anticipated hours for this position are:
Summer Session: 10am - 6pm
School Year: 10:30am - 6:30pm
Essential Functions
95% Program Facilitation
Program Coordination & Lesson Planning
- Plans, develops, and implements age-appropriate academic support, enrichment, and recreational activities for after-school and summer programming.
- Coordinates daily program schedules and ensures alignment with SPPS Extended Day learning goals.
- Uses Student participation and assessment data to inform lesson planning and program improvements.
Staff Leadership
- Ensures the safety, supervision, and positive engagement of all youth during program hours.
- Supports Youth Program Assistant Facilitators, Youth Aides, and volunteers.
- Models and reinforces positive behavior management and inclusive, trauma-informed practices.
Family Engagement
- Maintains regular communication with families regarding student progress, attendance, and program updates.
- Collaborates with Youth Services Director and colleagues to connect families to Keystone services and supports.
- Assists with planning and facilitating family events and meetings.
Program Operations & Records Management
- Maintains accurate enrollment, attendance, meal counts, permission slips, and student records.
- Manages waitlists and communicates enrollment availability.
- Assists with registration materials, program schedules, and outreach efforts.
Health, Safety, & Transportation
- Maintains awareness of student health needs, allergies, and emergency protocols.
- Ensures safe arrivals and departures of youth.
- Assists with transportation coordination for daily programming and field trips, including driving agency vehicles as needed.
Collaboration & Partnership Development
- Serves as the lead staff coordinator with SPPS for Extended Day Learning programming.
- Builds and maintains collaborative relationship with internal Keystone youth programs to support alignment and youth pathways.
- Develops and sustains partnerships with community organizations and schools to enhance programming and resources.
Professional Development
- Participates in supervision, trainings, department meetings, and agency initiatives.
- Contributes to continuous program improvement and staff development.
5% - Other Duties
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications Requirements and Preference

Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Education, Youth Development, Social Services or a related field is preferred.
- Fluency in a second language such as: Amharic, Tigrinya, Somali, or Spanish.
- Current Minnesota teaching licensure is preferred.
- Experience with Extended Day Learning or school -based partnerships is preferred.
Physical/Mental Requirements & Equipment Used
Physical working conditions require that the person be able to participate in youth program activities. May require lifting and moving program supplies. During program, frequent standing and walking around classroom, gym, or playground is required. Driving a Keystone vehicle is a requirement of this position.
Mental requirements include ability to assist students with homework; and verbal communication ability to professionally interact with Keystone staff, youth, and families, community residents and staff from other organizations.
