Salary Range: $21 - $22.60/hour
Position Description:
The Food Rescue Driver is responsible for the coordination of food collection from local food retailers and other food donors. This position adheres to health and safety requirements by upholding food safety standards while handling and delivering perishable and nonperishable items. This position works independently (on the box truck) while maintaining clear communication with the Director of Basic Needs, and coordinating with the Warehouse, Mobile Services and Market Teams. This position also plays an essential role in building and maintaining positive relationships with Keystone’s retail partners and donors.
Expected hours for this position will be from Monday - Friday, 6am - 2:30pm. Some evening hours may be required for service coverage.
Essential Functions:
50% Food rescue
- Driving to and from partner retail stores and donor sites
- Collect food rescue and other donations
- Load and unload food rescue and donations
- Maintain safety requirements (temperature logs and vehicle checks)
- Coordinate collection and delivery of food donations with team members, retail partners and donors
15% Warehouse operations
- Assist with receiving deliveries, unpack and stock food market inventory
- Greet donors and receive donations
- Assist with warehouse inventory tracking
10% Vehicle operations
- Follow safety protocols while operating agency vehicles.
- Manage day-to-day vehicle maintenance (i.e. gas, mileage).
- Work with Mobile Services Program Manager, Facilities Manager and Basic Needs Director to maintain vehicles (i.e. oil changes, and other preventative servicing).
- Work with team to ensure safe departure, arrival and parking of agency vehicles.
10% Data Tracking
- Maintain food rescue and donation logs
- Enter food rescue statistics
- Assist with warehouse inventory data entry in Clearly database system
10% General Basic Needs program support
- Assist with daily operations of Basic Needs program
- Assist with volunteer task assignment
- Assist with special projects
- Cover other programs as needed
5% Other duties as assigned
Qualification Requirements
- A valid MN Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Two years of experience driving and operating larger delivery vehicles.
- MnDOT certification card or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Experience working with participants from diverse backgrounds, urban settings, and lower-income.
- MS Office Suite experience (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
Qualification Preferences
- Fluency in a second language such as: Karen, Spanish, of Hmong.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Prior database and data entry experience.
