Role Description
This is a full-time, fully remote role for a Collector at KeyPoint Credit Union, located in Santa Clara, CA. The Collector will be responsible for managing delinquent accounts, contacting members via phone or email, and negotiating payment arrangements. This role involves identifying and resolving customer payment challenges, monitoring account payment plans, and maintaining accurate records of interactions and resolutions. The Collector will also collaborate with other departments to support members and ensure compliance with federal and state collection laws.
Qualifications
- Experience in collections, including account management and handling past-due payments. A minimum of two years related collections experience is required. Previous collections experience in a credit union or financial services environment is a plus.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve payment and customer service issues
- Attention to detail, record-keeping, and proficiency in maintaining accurate member account information
- Working knowledge of federal and state debt collection laws and regulations
- Proficiency in using financial software, databases, and office suite applications
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in finance or a related field is preferred
- Bilingual skills are a plus
