What are the responsibilities and job description for the Slot Director position at Kewadin Casinos?
The Slot Director, under the direction of Chief Executive Officer, is responsible for the planning, administration and day-to-day operations of the Kewadin Casinos Slot Departments. The position is responsible for determining slot percentage payoffs; creating and selecting new machines and placing them in the most desirable locations in conjunction with the Kewadin management team and designing new slot floor layouts as needed for floor changes. The position is responsible for presenting for review, revenue, budget, payroll, and operating expenses on a monthly basis. The position is responsible for providing attentive, cheerful, courteous, professional customer service to all customers, internal and external, striving to always exceed their expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- Oversee all the slot departments at all Kewadin Casinos locations.
- Establish, administer, and evaluate department policies and objectives.
- Evaluate and recommend changes to the slot floor as it pertains to machine type, denomination, game type, hold percentage, and location.
- Monitor gaming equipment performance and recommends change as required with the assistance of the Slot Analyst.
- Meet with vendors and makes recommendations on new product development, price, and quality issue.
- Coach, train, and develop the team members within the Slots department.
- Evaluate team members and makes recommendation for corrective action as needed.
- Create and review budgets and operating expenses.
- Explore new gaming trends and opportunities as related to gaming.
- Forecast present and future departmental needs for capital expenditures.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- Design new games and/or calculates the net effect of any changes to the existing games.
- Maintain technical oversight of Slot, Table Games, and Bingo equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all Company and departmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- All other job-related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position sedentary primarily sitting/lifting a maximum of 10 pounds. Physical factors include constant use of hearing, near vision; frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, use of midrange/far vision, color vision, typing; occasional carrying/lifting, pushing/pulling, stooping, kneeling, manual handling, depth perception, use of field of vision and bending. Working conditions include frequent exposure to noise and air quality and occasional exposure to weather. Potential hazards include constant computer use and occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals and infectious exposure.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 8 years of slot management experience required or a combined equivalent of education and experience in lieu of 8 years of slot management experience.
Certification/License: Must undergo a Criminal background investigation done under the rules of the National Indian Gaming Commission.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in a diverse range of audiences and settings. Knowledge of casino gaming operations preferred. Working knowledge of all major brands of slot machines preferred. Must be able to use word processing, spreadsheet, database and Auto Cad software and slot data systems. Must have excellent organization skills; organizing work, prioritizing tasks and managing time. Must be able to work with minimal to no supervision. Must be able to work in a team setting and promote a positive work environment. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, subordinates, supervisors and the general public. Must maintain confidentiality. Native American preferred.
