What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Supervisor position at Kestrel Vision?
We’re looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of our accounts payable function. This newly created role offers the opportunity to bring structure, consistency, and leadership to a key area of our finance operations. You’ll oversee a dedicated team, ensure accuracy and timeliness, and identify opportunities for efficiencies. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and develop a team of accounts payable clerks, providing guidance, training, and performance management
- Oversee end-to-end invoice and payment processing, ensuring adherence to company policies and approval workflows
- Manage vendor communications, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate vendor records
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, tax regulations, and accounting standards
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, delivering accurate and timely reporting to the accounting team
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounts payable, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- Strong understanding of the accounts payable lifecycle, internal controls, and relevant accounting principles (e.g., GAAP)
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
