SALARY
The salary for the above position will be based on the salary schedule currently in effect by Board Policy and Administrative Regulations.

Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Valid Texas administrator or mid-management certification
- Experience in academic coaching preferred
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
- Three years of teaching experience (core academic area/s preferred)
- At least two years of experience as an Assistant Principal
Instructional Management
- Assist teachers in improving their techniques for teaching in class management, methods, evaluations, testing and materials; supervises the development of growth plans for teachers; monitors library resources and use.
- Assist the principal and staff in developing the mission of the school and in working toward school improvement through curriculum and instruction.
- Serve as Curriculum Coordinator working closely with department chairs to appropriately align materials and assessments to TEKS.
- Develop, maintain and revise curriculum documents based on systematic review and evaluation.
- Coordinate special programs and GT services.
- Support instructional best practices by spending time daily in classroom settings and providing positive and productive feedback to teachers and departments in an effort to improve teaching and learning.
- Serve as coordinator for course description booklet and facilitate handling of parent concerns relating to curriculum.
- Meet bi-weekly with department chairpersons.
- Disaggregate, interpret, communicate, and lead meetings based on student achievement data sources such as STAAR and campus developed checkpoints and benchmarks.
- Meet with the principal and the Campus Improvement Team and monitor Academic Excellence Indicators for progress.
- Participate in developing the master schedule and teacher assignments.
- Assume responsibility, when assigned, for the total school operation in the absence of the principal.
- Assist the principal in instructional improvement by planning and implementing staff development and assuming assigned TTESS appraisal duties. Coordinate and evaluate staff development using feedback for future planning.
- Inform staff of Special Education, "504", ESL, and GT students, coordinate services, and ensure compliance with individualized modification, accommodation, and differentiation plans.
- Coordinate student-teacher and student observation programs with staff and appropriate college personnel.
- Assist in providing and maintaining adequate instructional resources and assist teachers in planning for the appropriate use of resources to provide the maximum enrichment for the instruction of each individual child.
- Serve as PEIMS coordinator ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
- Manage instructional materials to ensure availability of resources to students and teachers as appropriate.
- Actively participate in and encourage professional development programs and appropriate organizational activities.
- Use professional information discreetly and judiciously.
- Maintain a sincere, friendly attitude toward parents and students to ensure communication.
- Coordinate compliance with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, and Board policies.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner in accordance with district expectations and the Texas Education
- Agency Code of Ethics.
