Pipefitter I

Position Summary

Kern Energy is seeking a Pipefitter I to fabricate, install, and maintain piping systems within the refinery. This role requires a strong foundation in pipefitting, along with a keen eye for detail and quality workmanship. Job Function

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of piping systems.
• Measure, cut, and thread pipes to required specifications.
• Fabricate and assemble piping systems, including supports and hangers.
• Install and maintain piping systems, including valves, fittings, and other components.
• Perform regular inspections of piping systems to ensure that they are functioning properly and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot and repair piping systems using diagnostic tools and other technical documentation.
• Collaborate with other departments to identify and solve technical problems and improve processes.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Document information in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for electrical, instrumentation, and process control systems and equipment.
  
  

Qualifications

Knowledge Skills

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of piping systems, materials, and tools.
• Familiarity with welding, brazing, and soldering techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  
  

Education/ Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience in pipefitting in a refinery or industrial setting.
• Completion of the pipefitter Level I qualification training.
