Position Summary
Kern Energy is seeking a Pipefitter I to fabricate, install, and maintain piping systems within the refinery. This role requires a strong foundation in pipefitting, along with a keen eye for detail and quality workmanship. Job Function
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of piping systems.
- Measure, cut, and thread pipes to required specifications.
- Fabricate and assemble piping systems, including supports and hangers.
- Install and maintain piping systems, including valves, fittings, and other components.
- Perform regular inspections of piping systems to ensure that they are functioning properly and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot and repair piping systems using diagnostic tools and other technical documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and solve technical problems and improve processes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Document information in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for electrical, instrumentation, and process control systems and equipment.
Knowledge Skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, materials, and tools.
- Familiarity with welding, brazing, and soldering techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education/ Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience in pipefitting in a refinery or industrial setting.
- Completion of the pipefitter Level I qualification training.
