We’re partnering with a well-established, engineering-driven manufacturer with a long history of delivering high-value conveyor and material handling solutions to Fortune 500 customers. This organization combines a strong engineering foundation with modern manufacturing capabilities and a continuous improvement mindset.
We’re seeking a Buyer to support plant operations by identifying, sourcing, and procuring the goods and services needed to support manufacturing and project demands.
What You’ll Do
- Analyze supplier quotes and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
- Communicate with suppliers regarding quality, delivery, and issue resolution
- Identify purchasing needs through system reorder points and project demand
- Manage and maintain vendor-managed inventory programs
- Evaluate supplier performance and provide improvement recommendations
- Coordinate facility-related purchasing, including janitorial services, vending, maintenance, and other building services
- Enter and maintain purchasing transactions in the ERP system
- Support project timelines by ensuring materials are available when needed
What We’re Looking For
- Prior buying or purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across business units
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and multitasking skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access)
- Willingness to travel for day trips to a Wisconsin manufacturing facility (1–2 times per month)
Performance Objectives
- Ensure on-time delivery of materials so the plant has what it needs, when it needs it
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities, due dates, and purchasing challenges
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3–5 years of experience required
- Manufacturing environment experience is a must
