Job Summary
Preschool Instructor - Roving position to support multiple sites (as needed) . The position of Instruction, Early Education (Preschool teacher) in the District's State Pre-School Program, under the direct supervision of the District Director/Administrator of Preschool Program, provides instruction and supervision of 3 to 5 year-old pre-school-aged children, develops and carries out curriculum and instruction design. Beginning with the 2018-2019 school year, this position may be a grant-funded position and will be contingent on funding availability.
Requirements / Qualifications
EXPERIENCE: - Six months previous experience working in a preschool or classroom setting with preschool-aged children; - Bilingual desirable EDUCATION: - H.S. Diploma or equivalent; - 15 semester units at an accredited college in specified early education (3 in staff relations or administration and 12 in the area of covering child growth and development; child, family and community; and program/curriculum); in the area covering child growth and development; child, family & community; & program/curriculum - Six months of work experience in a licensed Child Care Center or similar program; and within 60 days of initial employment, completion of a 15-hour course or courses in preventative health practices to include pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation, pediatric first aid, recognition, management and prevention of infectious diseases including immunizations; and prevention of childhood injuries; CERTIFICATIONS: - Candidates may possess one of the following: a. Child Development Teacher Permit issued by the CCTC or b. Children's Center Instruction Permit issued by CCTC or c. Child Development Assistant Permit issued by the CCTC REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: 1) Chronological Resume 2) Three (3) Professional References 3) One of the three permits issued by the CTC
