Job Summary: The primary function of the Service Shop Maintenance is to keep the service shop and surrounding area clean and free of any and all garbage and debris for safety and appearance reasons.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must keep all shop bays clean and neat, by sweeping and steam cleaning on a regular basis.
- Roll up all air hoses, extension cords and water hoses when not in use.
- Empty all garbage cans on a regular basis.
- Keep lunchroom, bathrooms, locker rooms and wash areas clean and neat.
- Responsible to maintain and keep the service lot and outside yard in a neat, clean and organized manner.
- Performs daily and weekly exterior maintenance as needed, including sweeping and trash removal to ensure clean and orderly grounds. Provides snow and ice removal during inclement weather to maintain safe access.
- Will be required to help set up and clean up, tables, chairs, garbage and equipment used for company functions.
- Perform minor repairs including shop machines or tools, wall repair, painting, lights, windows, doors, desks or any other repairs needed within the facility.
- Must wear the approved shop uniform and boots.
- May be required to work Saturdays and overtime.
- Other duties as needed and assigned by the Shop Foreman or Service Manager.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English instructions and information.
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Experience in general maintenance work.
- Current and valid Driver's License in good standing.
- Excellent organization, communication, and driving skills.
- Some knowledge of heavy trucks and the trucking industry.
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to operate a forklift or be willing and able to receive forklift training.
Working Conditions:
This is a physically demanding position. Will bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and feel. Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, paint and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials. Will climb stairs and climb in and out of vehicles. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted on a regular basis.
