Part I – Position Description
Reporting directly to the President, the Director of Marketing is responsible for leading and implementing marketing strategies that advance the Kentucky College of Art Design's visibility, enrollment goals, public image, and strategic priorities. This role oversees all marketing functions, including branding, digital presence, content creation, media relations, and marketing analytics. The Director of Marketing will work across departments to ensure alignment between the College's mission, brand, and external communications.
Part II – Responsibilities
- Serve as a compelling ambassador for the Kentucky College of Art Design's mission, vision, and values in all marketing efforts.
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to support enrollment, advancement, and institutional visibility for new and existing programs.
- Manage and maintain the College's brand standards across all platforms and materials.
- Oversee digital and traditional marketing initiatives including social media, website content, email marketing, print campaigns, and advertising.
- Develop, manage, and evaluate digital content and storytelling initiatives to promote the KyCAD experience, student work, faculty research, and events.
- Collaborate closely with Academic Affairs, Admissions, Human Capital Management, Advancement, and other departments to ensure cohesive messaging and timely campaign execution.
- Analyze and report on marketing performance metrics to refine strategy and increase effectiveness.
- Identify and manage external vendors, designers, and consultants as needed for marketing projects.
- Support executive communications, public relations efforts, and the development of institutional publications.
- Embrace and help enhance KyCAD's culture through inclusive and engaging messaging that reflects the diversity of its community.
- Other duties as assigned.
Part III – Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Design, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and professional experience will be considered.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in marketing, preferably in higher education, nonprofit, or arts and culture organizations.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic marketing plans and multichannel campaigns.
- Strong visual and written communication skills with an eye for design, tone, and audience engagement.
- Proficiency in digital tools and platforms including website CMS, email marketing tools, analytics dashboards, and major social media channels.
- Experience designing and implementing backend marketing processes, systems, and workflows to improve efficiency, alignment, and consistency across channels.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision, and proven success of doing so.
- Collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively across departments.
- Understanding and appreciation of art, design, and/or creative education.
Preferred Qualification
Work is performed in a dynamic and evolving environment that requires flexibility, initiative, and responsiveness to changing institutional goals and priorities. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for events or project deadlines.

Salary : $78,000 - $80,000
