What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landbase Administration Technician I position at Kent County?
Under general supervision, the Landbase Administration Technician I will analyze and review legal and tax descriptions. Utilizing recorded documents, this role accurately identifies proper succession of property ownership and provides exceptional customer service to taxpayers, government officials, title companies, and other stakeholders seeking information on ownership, addresses, and tax descriptions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify permanent parcel numbers that correspond with legal and/or tax descriptions.
- Review and update tax descriptions and taxpayer demographic information in the BS&A.
- Analyze legal and tax descriptions to identify property parcels.
- Certify deeds and land contracts.
- Assist local government units in analyzing legal and tax descriptions.
- Respond to inquiries regarding parcel boundaries, measurements, acreages, and easements.
- Prepare map copies for sale to government units, commercial clients, and the public.
- Perform related work as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic knowledge of real property documents, real estate transfer processes and regulations, and/or landbase records systems.
- Working knowledge of Michigan property statutes and the Land Division Act.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
